[Discordant Nocturne]

Obviously well thought out, classical with a twist

The song is good in so many ways! The piano and synth just melt together into the gooey center of the song when it gets more intense. I like the beat overall, however, it gets a little repetitive. But of course that's how a trance song should be in the first place. I personally like the kick and snare, they were placed in the perfect spots which made this song really good, in my opinion.

Not to sound cheesy or anything, but I'd love it if you rated some of my stuff and would help me achive greatness such as this.

Ofcourse, I see through your devious facade.

The song is genuine and easy to listen too. The instruments for the song itself were taken from Sonic 3, Flying Battery Zone, and if you need more of a clue that it was taken from the game, listen to the beginning and wait for it to hit the main part. The sound effect in the background that sounds like a chime dwindling is actually the sound effect for the flag at the end of the level when you hit it to get more points. Brilliant, ParagonX9. You have made me question my own ability to create something as good as this. I will try however. Look out for my Flying Battery Zone remix in a while though. You might have some competition, lol.

Ehh, it's taken from the midi.

Seeing as how the song itself was just a midi redone with synths, there is absolutely no originality in that. Diversity? Not so much. Effort = 0, because seriously, where are the beats? The synth is the only thing!! Please, if you are going to do a remix, try and stay true to the song and not just rip it and remake the main part.

Substance is good.

I like the intro into the major substance in the beginning and also in the end. The backup synth as well as the main synth produced a nice sound. In the middle, when it's one lone melody maker, it's kinda boring and then BAM it hits again with the main riff. I liked it, personally. However, you could use some snares when it builds up because I personally like snares, heh. The beat overall is very good and the melody is sound. With a nice intro and outtro, I'd like to see a little more improvement in the middle before you call it finished.

Sounds good thus far.

I liked it, the rolling hit hat in the back, and the main synth is very cool. However, the synth seems to be the only melody maker. Where is the backup? strings? snares? Repetitive, but it's a nice start.

THe beginning leads to the main point of the song with the lead synth. Now, don't get me wrong, I know this is how rave music is supposed to sound, but the lead synth is just...too loud. If you turned the volume down on that and then added some strings, I'd be perfectly pleased. I like the chords it goes trough. I wanna dance to it, I really do.

"Maybe" if it was better.

There was no doubt in my mind that you took the main synth from FL5.0 from the song made by Tony and Freda called "Maybe". The song was good as it was. No reason to make a remix of it. And 5 years? Sounds like 5 minutes. No offence, but even I know when to make something more original.

The sound it nice, it is really nice. Barly any bass, but I guess the kick kinda helps that. Some parts sound a little delayed. There is a clap where the snare should be? WTF on that one. The repetition of the synth get's a little annoying later on in the song and the vocals completely destroy the mix.

I know I have been really harsh, but I honestly love the synth! It's great! You gotta tell me how to do that. I dare say that it may be the best part of the song. I am also a user of FL, but I got stuck with FL4.0 and haven't been able to get FL5.0. This sounds like you just got FL5 and wanted to tinker around with it.

As for DJ status, I don't know. It's just another submission on the NG Music Portal. Good work. A for effort, and a Z (yeah, I said Z) for originality.
